On Sunday evening, the CFR Cluj team defeated the Sepsi OSK team 2-1 at home, in the seventh stage of the Superliga play-off. Covasnen had two players eliminated in the first half.

MM, impressed by Muhar

The first half of the match in Gruia was one with many events. The hosts opened the scoring in the 6th minute, through Karlo Muhar, who scored from Deac’s cross. In the 19th minute, referee Marcel Bîrsan awarded a penalty for the guests and Alimi converted, equalizing the situation on the scoreboard.

In the 21st minute, Adrian Oroian was sent off after receiving his second yellow card in just seven minutes, but Sepsi was down to only eight field players in the 45th+2nd minute, when Florin Ştefan was sent off with a straight red card.

With two extra players, the Cluj team failed to score, although Otele hit the crossbar in the 57th minute, followed by Bîrligea in the 84th minute. The hosts scored the winning goal in the 90th+6th minute, through Muhar, and the final score was 2 -1. CFR Cluj is in 2nd place, with 37 points, while Sepsi has 28 points and is in 6th place.

MM Stoica spoke highly of Muhar, being impressed by the figures of the footballer from Gruia.

MM Stoica: “I wanted to look at Muhar’s numbers in Bulgaria because I don’t think he had these numbers there!

MM Stoica: He was a number 6, now he plays much closer to the opposing goal and has achievements. He has 14 goals scored at CFR and previously scored 3-4. His record was two goals per season! It’s all good with the numbers!
