The political delegation was led by Miao Yanhong and discussed the creation of a working group to prepare for next year the program through which Arad will be promoted in Hainan, and Hainan in Arad, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the twinning of the two. The program will aim at promoting investment opportunities, opening new markets, collaborations in the field of culture, education, public health and sports, said Iustin Cionca.

The business delegation from Hainan discussed with the chairman of the County Council and the representatives of the business environment of Arad about tax facilities and investment opportunities. Hainan has prepared an extremely ambitious development strategy that transforms the entire island of 10 million inhabitants into a free zone that will compete with Singapore and Hong-Kong. As one of the economic divisions at the level of the provincial government deals with the facilitation of Chinese investments abroad, the topic has become interesting for Arad, a county that occupies a privileged geo-strategic position in Eastern Europe, at the confluence of highways and the international railway network.

On this occasion, today, the Hainan-Arad International Trade Symposium was organized at the Arad County Council.

“As president of the County Council, I worked together with the team from the Council and with experts from Hainan Province to revitalize this twinning. I particularly appreciate the support that the people of Hainan offered us during the Covid 19 pandemic, when we convinced ourselves that beyond a conceptual relationship, there is a true friendship between us, and not only at the level of administrative leadership, but also institutionally , and in some situations even personally. It is true, the difference in size between Hainan and Arad is very large, both in area, and in population, and in economic performance. In Central and Eastern Europe the communities are smaller, a small Chinese province is the size of an average European state and most Chinese provinces are bigger than our country, Romania. But what interested us, in Arad, first of all, was to learn from the Chinese experience, from the way of organizing current activities, from the respect towards the elderly, towards the citizens, and last but not least, from the care towards of the children’s future”, declared Iustin Cionca.

Today’s meeting was also attended by the president of the Arad Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, Gheorghe Seculici. “It is a great pleasure to meet you today and discuss the opportunities for cooperation between Arad County and China’s Hainan Province. The active relationship that the Arad Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture has developed with economic representatives from China is a reality. Cooperation with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and other relevant organizations demonstrates our commitment to increasing trade relations and mutual investment.

Arad County has an extraordinary economic potential, with 28,000 companies in operation, including 41 with Chinese participation in the subscribed capital. Our key sectors such as automobile, food, textile, furniture, railway and trade offer ample opportunities for foreign investors. We are dedicated to attracting greenfield investments, given the industrial parks and modernized infrastructure we offer.

We encourage investors to explore the potential of Arad county, which is also highlighted by the three modal terminals, representing a strategic hub in the region. Modernized road and rail infrastructure, as well as the airport, are just some of the advantages we offer.

Together, we can build strong and sustainable partnerships that bring mutually beneficial benefits to both parties. We invite you to discover the business opportunities in Arad county and to be partners in the development of a prosperous economic future”, said Gheorghe Seculici.
