The charity priests who serve in the medical and care institutions in Prahova County met on Tuesday, April 2, at the Pissiota Monastery. In the opening of the pastoral circle, the clerics performed, in the church of the monastic settlement, the Akathist of the Mother of God “Joy of the afflicted”. The work of the pastoral circle, attended by 10 clerics, took place in the Summer Altar of the monastery, where two papers were presented on the pastoral care of oncological patients and the role of clerics in the care of patients in hospitals.

“Through these meetings of hospital priests, organized especially in the year dedicated to the care of the sick, we want to highlight the fact that we are with those in suffering and we try to support them no matter what kind of problem they have, psychiatric, oncological or other type. We always try to make it our duty to confess, share and read prayers for their health. Along with the performance of the Sacrament of the Holy Olive Oil in hospitals, all this has the role of making the sick aware that, in addition to medical treatments, it is important to run to God’s help, receiving physical healing and, above all, soul healing” , Father Mihai Ciprian Vișoiu from the Voila Psychiatric Hospital in Câmpina told TRINITAS TV.

In the same framework, the “Tradition and Current Affairs in the Romanian Orthodox Church (TABOR)” project was presented, implemented in the Romanian Patriarchate starting on March 1. The project aims at the reintegration into society of persons deprived of liberty after their release from prison.
