Athletes from the “Alexandra Pavel” Club in Alba Iulia, four medals at an international rhythmic gymnastics competition

Athletes from the “Alexandra Pavel” Sports Club in Alba Iulia achieved very good results at a rhythmic gymnastics competition organized in Chisinau.

Between April 26-28 in Chisinau, the Republic of Moldova, in the FMF Futsal Arena, the first edition of the International Rhythmic Gymnastics Competition “Chisinau Rhythmic Stars” took place, organized by the Education, Youth and Sport Directorate, in collaboration with the Federation of Sports Rhythmic Gymnastics of the Republic of Moldova.

More than 300 gymnasts from countries such as the Republic of Moldova, Israel, Ireland, Bulgaria, Luxembourg, Ukraine, Austria and Romania competed in the competition.

From Romania, 6 clubs participated: Dandri Bucharest, Sportul Studențesc Bucharest, CSȘ.Iași, ACS “Älexandra Pavel” Alba Iulia, CSȘ. Baia Mare and Victoria Cumpăna – Constanța.

The “Alexandra Pavel” Sports Club was represented by 7 talented gymnasts: Călin Carla, Barbu Miruna Teodora, Leterna Andreea Ștefania (junior category IV, 6-8 years old), Barbu Iarina Victoria, Taltabeț Antonia, Groza Laura (junior category III, 10 -11 years) and Pavel Alexandra Georgiana (senior category).

Our athletes obtained a total of 4 medals: 1 gold and 3 silver, as follows: Pavel Alexandra: 1st place (hoop) and 2nd place (ribbon), Barbu Iarina Victoria: 2nd place (rope) and Taltabeț Antonia: 2nd place (rope).

Among the guests from Romania was Mr. Adrian Dupu, the State Secretary of the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova in the Government of Romania, with whom the Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation of the Republic of Moldova has a partnership agreement and benefits from financial support. Also present was the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Education and Research from the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Sergiu Gurin, who, together with the Romanian official, Adrian Dupu, participated in the award ceremony of the gymnasts.
