On Wednesday, the police from Prahova raided the headquarters of a company in Bucharest, whose business is financial consultancy regarding the attraction of European funds, the representatives of the company being accused of defrauding a company active in the field of construction with over 46,000 lei I promised him the preparation of the necessary documentation to access non-reimbursable European funds, for the purchase of some machines.
The investigation, carried out by the policemen of the Prahova County Police Inspectorate – the Economic Crime Investigation Service, under the coordination of the prosecutor from the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Ploiesti District Court, concerns fraud crimes.
“In fact, during August 2023, a commercial company would have misled an economic operator, from Prahova county, in the sense that it would have concluded a contract with him in the field of financial consulting, claiming and obtaining approximately 46,500 lei, in in order to prepare the necessary documentation to access non-reimbursable European funds, for the purchase of some equipment”, the representatives of the Prahova County Police say.
The company that paid the money to the consultant for European projects carries out its activity in the field of constructions, erecting halls, blocks, houses, judicial sources told News.ro.
The representatives of the suspected company will be taken to the headquarters of the Police unit for questioning.
