Between June 14 and October 14, 2024, the international train “Romania” will ensure a daily direct connection from Bucharest to Istanbul / Halkali, Varna, Sofia and back, reports CFR Călători. Tickets to and from these destinations are already on sale, the quoted source said.

To Istanbul / Halkali, international train “Romania” 461 (461/ 465/ 493/ 12504) departs from Bucharest North at 10:47 and arrives in Istanbul / Halkali at 06:34.

The international train “Romania” 460 (12503/ 492/ 464/ 460) departs from Istanbul/Halkali at 20:00 and arrives in Bucharest North at 17:17.

A ticket Bucharest North – Istanbul/Halkali (or return), in the 4-seater sleeper carriage, costs 56 euros.

The international train “Romania” 461 (461/ 2615) departs from Bucharest Nord at 10:47 and arrives in Varna at 20:55.

The international train “România” 460 (2612/ 460) departs from Varna at 07:45 and arrives in Bucharest North at 17:17. A ticket Bucharest North – Varna (or return), in 2nd class, costs 31 euros, mentions the quoted source.

The international train “Romania” 461 departs from Bucharest North at 10:47 and arrives in Sofia at 20:21.

The international train “Romania” 460 (2611/ 460) departs from Sofia at 07:00 and arrives in Bucharest North at 17:17. A ticket Bucharest North – Sofia (or return), in 2nd class, costs 32 euro.

The advance purchase period for train tickets for international travel is 90 days.

They can be purchased from CFR Călători stations and travel agencies open to international traffic, as well as online at https://bileteinternationale.cfrcalatori.ro/ro with ticket pickup from the train station or delivery by courier.

According to CFR Călători, it ensured the circulation of approximately 1,110 trains daily in 2023, on average.

The company stated that in 2023, the volume of services offered (average number of trains per day) increased by 4.7% compared to 2022. Equally, the number of passengers transported in 2023 increased by approx. 5% compared to 2022.

“Passenger travel (expressed in passenger km) in 2023 was 5.8% higher than in 2022,” the national rail passenger transport operator reported.
