Approximately 450 middle and high school students from “Alexandru Papiu Ilarian” National College, Electromureș High School, “Dacia” High School, “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” High School, “Tudor Vladimirescu” High School and “Mihai Viteazul” High School participated , between April 22-25, 2024, at the educational activities organized within the “Green Week: exploring green energy” event. It was an excellent opportunity for them to understand essential concepts and to promote sustainability in their education, according to the information provided by representatives of UMFST Târgu Mureș.
Univ. Assoc. Dr. Eng. Cristian Dumitru, responsible for the Energy and Information Technologies study program, and associate professor Dr. Eng. Mihaela Bucur, responsible for the Industrial Economic Engineering study program, supported by the students of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, UMFST GE Palade Târgu Mureș, managed to organize an exceptional educational marathon, aimed at putting into practice the sustainability principles of UMFST.
“Participants had the opportunity to discover essential information about the circular economy, sustainable development and test models that work on the basis of renewable energy. In addition to these activities, the 8th grade students had a brief presentation of the opportunities offered by UMFST “George Emil Palade” High School, while the high school students were introduced to the scope of research and testing carried out by current engineers, graduates of of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, based on the use of hydrogen and biomass for the production of energy”, said university associate.
