Warning strike, tomorrow, in the sanitary system! From 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., the members of the Sanitary Solidarity Federation will come out in front of the health facilities. Doctors, nurses, nurses or TESA staff, they demand an increase in basic salaries for all categories of Health employees by at least 25% in the year 2024, the payment of guards at the hourly rate of the basic norm and the granting of the food allowance by reference to the salary minimum on the economy.

At the Constanța Infectious Diseases Hospital, most employees are members of the Sanitary Solidarity Federation. The leader of the union here, Mihaela Ianuș, explains why the 20% salary increase, established last month by a Government ordinance, does not satisfy the employees of the health system.

“The salary increase granted by the Government does not cover inflation and does not comply with the Salary Law, in the sense that increases are not applied to this salary increase, salary increases from 2024 are not applied. It is not a real increase, because the income of a employee consists of the basic salary plus the night bonus, plus the weekend bonus for those who work on Saturday, Sunday or those who do shifts. This is the total income to be collected by an employee. In the conditions in which they say that they made a 20% increase, they should apply the 20% to the total income, not just to the employment salary”, says Mihaela Ianuș.

Union members on their lunch break or day off will be protesting so that medical care can be provided without interruption and patients not suffer.
