ANM announced on Monday morning that a cloud of Saharan dust will envelop Sibiu and other regions in the country. Saharan dust particles will settle and can be observed in the west, north and center of the country, especially during rainy intervals.
Several images taken with the drone captured the Saharan dust cloud over Sibiu, especially the Architects’ Quarter. During this period the air is charged with dust particles of Saharan origin, and the atmosphere feels charged.
“Saharan or North African dust is constantly picked up by the winds and carried towards Europe, but only when there are higher concentrations are some alerts issued”, reported Sibiu meteorologists for Ora de Sibiu in May of last year, when a wave of Saharan dust hit Sibiu again.
ANM shows that significant dust deposits will be observed starting from the night of Monday to Tuesday, in the west, north and center of the country, where rain is forecast.
Between April 1 and 2, dust particles will remain above the territory of Romania.
