An unusual incident took place in Pitesti, where a woman was sent to court for aggravated theft, after she decided to recover her car left at a pawn shop, without notifying or paying the related debt.

A few days ago, the woman who was in dire need of money pawned her car for the initial amount of 2,000 lei, gradually reaching a total of 7,000 lei, the value at which the car was valued.

After spending all the money she received and still needing money, but without the possibility of getting more money from the pawn shop, the woman decided to take her car back on her own responsibility. Thus, she went to the pawn shop and took the car directly in front of it without informing anyone.

The situation quickly escalated, after the owner of the pawn shop noticed the car was missing and, failing to get in touch with the woman, alerted the authorities. The police located the car the same day, parked in front of an arcade in the city, and the woman was found and taken for questioning.

What the woman told the authorities

During the interrogation, the woman claimed that she intended to return the amount owed to the pawn shop on the very day she took the car from the front of the store. Investigations are now ongoing and she is facing charges of aggravated theft.
