More than half of the employees of the post offices in Vrancea went on a general strike on Monday morning and refused to go to the field, among their demands being increased wages and working conditions.
“I want to apologize for the inconvenience caused to all our customers, and especially the pensioners, who entered this game without any fault, especially since they live only on their pension. At this moment, a commission is in Bucharest, at the ministry, to negotiate again, hoping to find some solutions. We are waiting for the answer.
Our postmen are prepared to leave even today with their pensions, if we get a positive response and reach an agreement regarding our demands. If not, we will continue the strike, which is perfectly legal. Almost 200 people, about 55% of the total number of post office employees in Vrancea, are currently on a general strike”, declared the leader of SLPR Vrancea, Ionuţ Bercaru.
On Monday morning, the postal workers who carried the mail and pensions refused to go to the field, and in Focşani the representatives of the strikers met with a delegation that also included a representative of the Romanian Post National Company.
