The program for awarding food vouchers continues in 2024. 6 installments of 250 lei each are awarded to Romanians with small households and a very large number of pensioners.

Who are the 2,500,000 pensioners who get 250 lei in addition to their pension? Under what conditions
From the figures consulted by Newsweek from the Pension House, there are at least 2,500,000 pensioners who have a pension of less than 2,000 lei and who thus receive these vouchers for food or to pay for a hot meal.
The first installment for 2024 was granted in February. Thus, the second tranche of 250 lei will be granted in April, but not earlier than April 18. In February, there were retirees who received this aid towards the end of the month on February 28.
Newsweek closely monitored the entire process.

What do you do if you don’t receive the card?
If you qualify as a beneficiary of this aid and you have not received the card, you must check at the nearest post office. If it’s not there, call 031.9268.

Who benefits from the food card in 2024?
a) retirees of the public pension system whose monthly income is less than or equal to 2,000 lei;
b) persons – children and adults – classified as severely, severely or moderately disabled, whose income is less than or equal to 2,000 lei;
c) families with at least 2 dependent children whose monthly income per family member is less than 675 lei;
d) single-parent families whose monthly income per family member is less than 675 lei;
e) families and single persons who have established the right to the inclusion aid, under the conditions of Law no. 196/2016 regarding the minimum inclusion income, with subsequent amendments and additions;
f) homeless people as they are regulated according to the legal provisions in force.
