A 63-year-old man was detained after he entered a woman’s home in Matăsari, Goj county, under the pretext of repairing the boiler, and then raped her.

Gorjeni police detained for 24 hours a 63-year-old man from Matăsari commune, suspected of committing the crimes of attempted rape and robbery.

A woman called 112 and said that her 32-year-old daughter was raped by a man who was working on the boiler.

When she wanted to call 112, she ran away with her phone

“From the first investigations carried out by the police, on the spot, it emerged that a 63-year-old man allegedly tried to have sexual relations with the 32-year-old woman in her home and, as a result of the fact that he resisted, slap her in the face and body area. The woman would have tried to request the support of the police, by calling 112, but the man would have snatched the mobile phone from her hand, leaving the home of the injured person”, reports Gorj Police on Monday.

Shortly after, the man was identified within the locality and taken to the police headquarters for investigation. An ambulance crew went to the scene and provided medical care to the victim, who is to be medico-legally examined. The man will be presented to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Motru Court on Monday, with a corresponding proposal.
