A 63-year-old man from Gorj county was detained, under charges of robbery and attempted rape, after he tried to have sexual acts, against her will, with a woman who had called him to repair her boiler. Because the woman objected and tried to call 112, he hit her and took her phone.
The violent incidents took place on Sunday, in a house in Matăsari commune, Gorj county. Initially, the police were informed that a 32-year-old woman had been raped.
“Police officers from the Motru Municipality Police were alerted through the 112 call by a woman, about the fact that her 32-year-old daughter, from the locality, had been raped by a man from the locality, who was working on the thermal plant. From the first investigations carried out by the police, on the spot, it emerged that a 63-year-old man allegedly tried to have sexual relations with the 32-year-old woman in her home and, as a result of the fact that he resisted, hit – it with the palms in the area of the face and body. The woman would have tried to request the support of the police, by calling 112, but the man would have snatched the mobile phone from her hand, leaving the home of the injured person”, informed the officials of the Gorj County Police on Monday.
The suspect was identified in a short time in Matăsari commune, being taken to the police headquarters for investigation. An ambulance crew was sent to the scene and provided medical care to the victim. The woman is to be medically examined. During the day on Monday. The man will be presented to the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Motru District Court, after which the prosecutor will decide whether to request a preventive arrest warrant for his nuns or order another preventive measure.
