The Minister of Education, Ligia Deca, is in Sibiu on Friday and, on this occasion, she will sign the financing contract for the dual campus that will be built on Calea Dumbrăvii. Deca spoke about the importance of this project, showing that this system will give young people unprecedented opportunities.
The contract for financing the campus for dual education on Calea Dumbrăvii in Sibiu will be signed on Friday by the Minister of Education, Ligia Deca. The project benefits from the support of several partners, Deca showed at a press conference, and will include several specializations.
“I will visit the Nicolae Bălcescu Academy of the Land Forces and, obviously, we will sign the contract for the investment in dual education, for the dual regional campus in Sibiu. We have a whole series of partners, the leader of the partnership is Lucian Blaga University. Also, as partners are the Nicolae Bălcescu Academy of Land Forces, the municipality of Sibiu and six educational units, namely the Mediaș National Gas School, the Avram Iancu Sibiu Technological High School, the Henri Coandă Technological High School Sibiu, the Sibiu Energy Technical College, the George Barițiu Economic College Sibiu , the Mediaș Automecanica Technological High School and the Terezianum Sibiu Food Industry Technological High School. We also have six economic operators who assumed the partnership in the first instance, SC Automecanica Mediaș SRL, Compa SA Sibiu, Continental Automotive, Marquardt, ODU Romania and SC Solina Romania Sântimbru. Practically, the main specializations targeted by the project are mechanics, mechatronics, ICT, the food industry, trade, electronics, forestry and transport,” said Ligia Deca.
The Minister of Education pointed out that the project is of major importance, considering the fact that young people who want to learn a trade will be able to do even a doctorate here. “I think it’s an extremely important step, on the one hand, in increasing the attractiveness of jobs and training in the dual technology system, but I think it’s also an important point in the idea of creating that complete dual route, which offers families who choose for their children this route guarantees that, practically, the young man will go as far as his potential allows and as far as he wants. It will no longer be limited by a certain level of qualification, they will be able to go up to the doctorate on the dual track, a track that has proven to be successful and for which the private environment in Sibiu County I believe is already a real partner. As a minister, I maintained my commitment to make the complete dual route a reality in the 2029-2030 school year, for everything that means technological education in Romania. (…) This system offers unprecedented opportunities, both for employment and for further development”, said Ligia Deca, Minister of Education, during a press conference organized on Friday in Sibiu.
Raluca Turcan, the Minister of Culture, was present at the press conference and stated that, when the vocational high schools were abolished, “we had to go through an extremely difficult stage to manage to have teachers and students at the technological high schools” . According to her, schools in the dual system are extremely important because here young people can qualify for the jobs expected by the economic environment.
