Reservations for the May 1st mini-vacation were made by over 50% of Romanians since the fall of last year. Here are the most sought-after tourist destinations for this period.

The most searched tourist destinations in Romania for May 1

This year, May 1st and Easter coincide, giving budgeters a 6-day window between May 1st and 6th. Private sector employees also get days off during this period, with the exception of May 2.

As a result, tourist packages in the country have become very popular among Romanians, who take advantage of the discounts offered for early bookings, available since the fall of last year, or the holiday vouchers that can be used exclusively in the country.

What benefits do tourists have in these destinations?

Thus, the mini-vacation marked the beginning of the summer season in Romania. While May Day is often dedicated to young people in seaside resorts such as Mamaia Nord, Costinești and Vama Veche, the majority of Easter tourists were families, who chose to spend time in the mountains, spa resorts with thermal waters and 4 or 5 star high quality services. For the latter, Băile Felix is among the most sought-after tourist destinations during the May 1st and Easter mini-vacations, along with other balneo-climatic and mountain resorts, such as Călimănești, Căciulata and Valea Prahova.

In the Danube Delta, tourists mainly preferred accommodation in Sulina, Crișan and Băltenii de Sus.

More than 55% of tourists chose to stay at 4- and 5-star accommodations, which provide additional services such as access to hot spring facilities, live shows, and children’s programs.
