The police from Harghita will act so that the Feast of the Resurrection, celebrated by the communities of the Roman Catholic and Reformed cults, will also take place in 2024 under conditions of civic normality.
Between March 29 and April 1, 2024, at the level of the Harghita County Police Inspectorate, activities will be carried out to maintain the climate of public safety and the prevention of criminal and contraventional acts, in the context of the Celebration of the Resurrection of the Lord by the communities of the Roman Catholic and Reformed religions .
Thus, in the mentioned time interval, in Harghita county, daily, a device consisting of 152 policemen will act, of which 100 public order, 25 traffic police, 14 criminal investigations and 13 from other structures.
The main missions of the police force are the following:
- maintaining the climate of public order at an optimal level, so that believers of the Roman Catholic and Reformed confessions can celebrate, under safe conditions, this moment of reference for the Christian community;
- ensuring the flow of road traffic on the roads in Harghita county;
- prompt intervention in reported events by calling the single number 112;
- carrying out the support missions necessary to fulfill the duties under the competence of cooperation institutions and public authorities.
On the night when the Resurrection of the Lord is celebrated, in the areas near the Roman Catholic and Reformed places of worship, the police crews will act, in cooperation with the gendarmerie forces and the local police or independently, so that the religious demonstrations take place in conditions of safety. Also, on the morning of March 31, 2024, in the public places where the traditional ceremonies of consecration of the dishes take place, police teams will be present to prevent any event or situation likely to affect the conduct, under normal conditions, of these moments with special character.
