The Star Braşov store is hosting a demonstration workshop of home crafts until Saturday, March 30. “Craft Show” is an event organized by the Eurosilvania Association, with the aim of promoting the craft of weaving, one of the oldest traditional Romanian crafts. In the workshops organized daily, with the participation of folk craftsmen from rural areas of Botoşani and Vâlcea counties, all the stages of making fabrics on horizontal and vertical looms will be recreated.
Among the guests of the event are Aurica Cojocariu (living human treasure – horizontal weaving war), Maria Neamţu (grand prize of the Romanian Folk Crafts Fair – vertical embroidery), Maria Zoiţanu (Romanian language and literature teacher, passionate about folklore, specialized in collecting and the documentation of traditions) and the Sezatore group in Braşov. A collection of traditional shirts sewn by women from the Şezătoare la Braşov group – led by Oana Bîrgăoanu-Pavăl – will be exhibited in the workshop space, as well as the Lidia Vişan collection – shirts by Teleorman.
Participation is free, the program being as follows: Friday from 10:30 to 18:00, and Saturday from 10:30 to 13:30.
