The Shakespeare caravan arrives in Arad

I PLOW. On March 30, the Shakespeare Caravan arrives in Arad and brings, for the first time, “The Complete Works of Shakespeare” in 45 minutes. Theater lovers from Arad are expected on Saturday, March 30, at 6:00 p.m., in the parking lot of the Continental Hotel, for an outdoor show based on six texts by William Shakespeare.

“Entry is free and participants have the opportunity to enter a competition that can bring them one of two weekends for two at the International Shakespeare Festival – XIVth Edition, which will take place from May 16-26 2024, in Craiova”, announced the organizers, respectively those from the “Marin Sorescu” National Theater in Craiova.

This year, the International Shakespeare Festival celebrates 30 years since its first edition and set off in a caravan through 30 cities in Romania, including Arad.

“The complete works of Shakespeare” in 45 minutes is a theater show created by the “Marin Sorescu” National Theater in Craiova and presented for the first time by three actors who travel the country in a van, to bring Shakespeare from the middle of the theater community from Craiova in the middle of the communities in each city they will pass through and to share a slice of the young, fresh and nonconformist spirit of the International Shakespeare Festival in Craiova, one of the most important thematic festivals in Europe and among the most important Shakespeare festivals in the world .

The show “The Complete Works of Shakespeare” features Lucian Vlăsceanu, Adrian Tudor and Alexandru Gabriel Boboruță. The translation and adaptation are signed by Petre Bokor, the scenography belongs to Adelina Galiceanu, and the direction is signed by Alexandru Boureanu.

“Participants in the show presented by Caravana Shakespeare, on March 30, at 6:00 p.m., in the parking lot of the Continental Forum Hotel in Arad, will be able to sign up for the contest that can bring them one of two weekends in two (accommodation, transport, tickets to shows), at the International Shakespeare Festival in Craiova”, the organizers also announce.
