--

CFR delay record.

A Pitesti-Bucuresti train arrived at the North Station 5 hours late. Following an exchange of communications between the companies involved, CFR Sa and CFR Călători, the latter stated that only the train was late, not the passengers

CFR SA transmitted that RE train 13211 was formed in Pitesti station from train RE 13245, which left Basarab Depot with a delay of 17 minutes, and in Titu station, it announced the failure of the locomotive and stopped for another 191 minutes until it arrived an auxiliary locomotive for the continuation of the journey to Pitesti. “We specify that in certain areas on the Bucharest – Pitesti section, CFR SA is carrying out Quick Wins type repair works and renewal of the track superstructure, but, as we informed the public, through press releases, the delays caused by these works are not generally exceed 30-40 minutes. We apologize to the passengers who had tickets for train RE 13211 for the delay recorded upon arrival at the North Station, with the mention that the railway staff of CFR SA is constantly making all the necessary efforts to reduce the minutes of delay caused by the works on the track superstructure. However, we cannot intervene in the event of locomotive failure”, specified the representatives of CFR SA.

For its part, CFR Călători specifies, in a press release, that the passengers “did not arrive in Bucharest in 300 minutes, but in a reasonable time”.

“Regarding the information in the mass media according to which passengers traveling with RE train 13211 on the route Pitesti – Bucharest North had a delay of 300 minutes, CFR Călători makes the following clarifications: the passengers did not arrive in Bucharest in 300 minutes, but in a reasonable time. They were picked up from the Pitesti station in a short time by other trains of the company, whose destination was Bucharest North. The problems that affected passengers were caused both by a technical failure of the locomotive of train RE 13211, and by the works carried out by CFR SA to replace the railway tracks. CFR Călători apologizes to the affected passengers”, says the railway operator of public passenger transport.
