--

A 63-year-old man from Cluj was arrested a few days ago for violating the protection order.

The man, from Cășeiu commune, was detained by the police by a detention order for 24 hours on March 25, he is being investigated in a criminal case for robbery and violation of the measures established by the protection order. The police say that on that day, while he was on a public road in the town of Cășeiu, he would have approached his wife, although he had the legal obligation not to approach her at a distance of less than 50 meters, asking to give her a sum of money from the social assistance claimed by the woman. Seeing that the woman refused to hand over the money, the man allegedly became violent, grabbed her and stole her wallet containing the sum of 770 lei. The damage was recovered by the police in proportion of three quarters. Given that the man did not comply with the measures imposed by the protection order issued by the Dej Court in October 2023, on that day – March 25 – the police ordered his detention for 24 hours. At the expiration of the mandate, the rights and freedoms judge of the Dej Court issued a preventive arrest warrant for 30 days in his name.

“We make it clear that for the previous acts of violation of the protection order, the man was investigated by the police in other criminal cases”, say the investigators.
