The Transilvania Philharmonic performs with ALTAR

The “Transylvania” State Philharmonic Choir and Orchestra will mark 33 years of existence with an extraordinary concert that will take place on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. During the anniversary event, the classical instruments will be interwoven with the rock chords of the ALTAR band from Cluj.

They will resound “all the fan-favorite tracks, orchestrated and performed live, as they have never been presented before, in a spectacular audio-visual show that will transport the audience to another dimension”, promise ALTAR .

It is not the first time that the Cluj Philharmonic plays alongside rock legends. Under the baton of the conductor Paul Mann, the Transilvania Philharmonic played alongside Deep Purple. After Vița de Vie and Subcarpathi, it is the turn of the boys from Altar to go up, for the first time, on the stage of the Auditorium Maximum (Academic College), together with the conductor Andrei Tudor and the Choir and Orchestra of the “Transylvania” State Philharmonic.

Andrew Tudor began singing and studying piano in 1987 at the age of four. He is a member of the Arts Council of CREDIDAM and a member of UCMR-ADA in Romania. Since 2008, he is a member of the Union of Composers and Musicologists from Romania (UCMR). He holds the title of Doctor of Musical Art and is a lecturer in the Composition Department of the National University of Music Bucharest.

Over time, Andrew Tudor he had the pleasure of working as a composer, arranger, pianist and/or conductor with important names of classical and light music from Romania or abroad including: Angela Gheorghiu, Andrea Bocelli, Ed Sheeran CeCe Winnans, Edvin Marton , Goran Bregovici, Boney M Experience, Aura Urziceanu, Monica Anghel, Nico, Luminita Anghel, Andra, Gabriel Cotabiță, Vlad Miriță, Marcel Pavel, Cezar Ouatu, Cristi Minculescu, Adrian Enache, Paula Seling, etc. He was at the conductor’s desk of the Bucharest Pops Orchestra, the Romanian National Orchestra, the Radio Romania Big Band, and the Philharmonic orchestras in the country such as those in Bucharest, Sibiu, Brașov, Pitesti and Cluj-Napoca. He also collaborated as a conductor with the Royal Camerata, the Bucharest Children’s Opera, the Cluj-Napoca Romanian National Opera, the Budapest Primarius Orchestra, the Prague Philharmonic, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Saarbruken Radio Symphony Orchestra.

As for his discography, it includes songs or arrangements that appeared on more than 20 albums and compilations released – Angela Gheorghiu – EternityAngela Gheorghiu – Guardian AngelAndra – Winter dream (Gold Record), etc.

Andrew Tudor he is the holder of more than 30 international and national awards and distinctions in the field of musical composition or interpretation.

About ALTAR

Founded in 1991 in Cluj-Napoca, the ALTAR band established itself from the first live appearances as one of the most prodigious Romanian rock bands, promoters of attitude music in Romania, with a strong social impact and audience, thanks to the musical conception particular, the message and the effervescent stage appearances.

Repeatedly, ALTAR has been designated as the best Romanian rock band, and the band’s activity represents probably the most important page in the history of the rock scene autochthonous after the 90s.
