Danger of floods in Satu Mare. Warning sent by hydrologists

Today, hydrologists issued a Yellow Code flood warning valid for Satu Mare county. The warning will expire tomorrow morning, say those from the National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management.

Hydrologists have issued a flood warning also valid for Satu Mare county. According to the INHGA, the warning came into force at 12pm today and will expire at 8am tomorrow morning.

“In the Someș-Tisa area, watercourse sectors from the Someșul Mic, Someș and Crasna hydrographic basins are targeted. The hydrological warning mainly concerns the phenomena of important leaks on slopes, torrents and streams, rapid floods on small rivers with possible local flooding effects. Our specialists monitor the watercourses and hydrotechnical works in the areas under the hydrological warning”, say those from Apele Române.

Considering the current hydrometeorological situation and the weather forecast for the next 24 hours, as a result of the forecasted precipitation and propagation, significant runoff on slopes, torrents and streams, flash floods on small rivers with possible local flooding effects and increased flows may occur and levels on some rivers in the mentioned hydrographic basins, with possible exceedances of attention quotas.

At the level of Satu Mare county, the Crasna river is under warning, we are talking about the upstream Ac basin. Vârşolţ and the tributaries related to the downstream sector Ac. Peak.

According to meteorologists, starting on Thursday, the probability of precipitation will decrease in the Satu Mare region, and summer residents can expect variable skies and rising temperatures.
