Israel’s far-right Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, was slightly injured and taken to hospital following a car accident, Israeli police announced.

Images circulated on social networks show a car that has overturned, appropriately BBC.

Two other people were also injured, and the circumstances of the incident are under investigation, the police said.

Israeli media said Ben-Gvir was returning from the scene of a stabbing in the town of Ramle, near Tel Aviv.

A 19-year-old woman was seriously injured in that incident, according to the emergency services. Central District Police Chief Avi Biton said a man who allegedly had mental health problems attacked the woman and was then shot and “neutralized” by a civilian.

Ben-Gvir is a controversial member of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s emergency government.

He recently called for a large-scale military response from Israel against Iran after Tehran’s missile and drone attack on Israel, which in turn was prompted by an Israeli attack that killed senior Iranian military figures in the Iranian consulate in Syria.

At the same time, Ben-Gvir pleaded for the relocation of Palestinians from Gaza and supported the calls for the restoration of Jewish settlements in this area.
