Sibian detained after stealing a bicycle from the front of a house and taking more tools from a garage

A 47-year-old man from Sibiu was detained by the police after stealing a bicycle from the front of a building and several scooters from the home’s garage. The damage caused exceeds 10,000 lei, say the police.

“On March 26 this year, the policemen of the Criminal Investigations Bureau of the Sibiu Municipality Police detained a 47-year-old Sibiu man, under criminal investigation under the aspect of committing the crime of qualified theft.

The man from Sibiu is suspected of having stolen a bicycle from the front of a building and several tools from the garage of a house, in the municipality of Sibiu, between 04 and 15 March this year, the damage caused exceeding 10,000 lei.

Based on the evidence provided, the police took the measure of detaining the man in question for 24 hours, to be presented to the competent prosecutor’s office in order to apply a preventive measure.” said Elena Walter, spokeswoman for the Sibiu Police.

The investigations are continued at the level of the Sibiu Municipality Police, under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Sibiu Court.
