Sebastian Burduja submitted his candidacy to the Capital City Hall on Saturday. He rode a motorcycle to the event, where several PNL leaders are participating, including the party’s president, Nicolae Ciucă.
The event took place on Saturday at the headquarters of the Municipal Electoral Office. Sebastian Burduja submitted his candidacy to the Capital City Hall in the presence of the party president, Nicolae Ciucă, as well as other liberals.
Sebastian Burduja arrived on a motorcycle at the BEM headquarters, and here he was awaited by dozens of PNL members, led by the party’s president, Nicolae Ciucă.
Ciucă explained why Burduja chose to come on a motorcycle to this event.
“He is supported by people who have been by his side every time and now we were able to see Sebastian Burduja as he is. For me, it is the first time that I see a candidate come to submit his files on a motorcycle. I asked him at the party headquarters why with the motorcycle and he said “because that’s who I am. I don’t want to appear different than the way I am in reality”, which I, personally, appreciate very much in any person, but especially in a candidate who comes to ask people for trust, to ask people to vote for him, and people must appreciate exactly this state of reality and normality”, declared Nicolae Ciucă.
Sebastian Burduja declared that the people of Bucharest deserve to have a city to be proud of.
“We took the first step for the change of Bucharest. A change we have all been waiting for for years. It is an important moment for all Bucharest residents because they have the chance to have a city to be proud of, a city where they are no longer afraid to send their children to school because of drugs, a city where they have parks and green spaces, befitting a 21st century capital, a city where you can no longer waste your precious time with your family in traffic, a city where, truly, we all have a better time. It’s a tough race. There are a few days left until the elections. It’s a four-way race. And this is, in fact, the beauty of democracy. Bucharest must once again give the exact time for the whole of Romania both in terms of this electoral competition and in terms of the development of this city”, said the PNL candidate at the Capital’s City Hall.
Burduja challenged the current mayor to a debate and stated that he wanted to see if “he has the courage to fight with him on arguments”.
“Last but not least, I fear nothing but God. I hope that other candidates are not afraid to have a debate with me. I see that they are afraid, but, nevertheless, I will directly challenge Mr. Nicusor Dan to a debate, within a week, to meet to discuss solutions. I want to see if he has the courage to fight me on arguments. We have a plan, we have a team, we have results and energy. We are coming to the General City Hall”, declared Sebastian Burduja.
