This year, on April 3, 174 years have passed since the establishment of the Romanian Gendarmerie. To mark this anniversary moment, the Ialomita Gendarmerie organizes a series of events dedicated to Arma Day.

The gendarmes marked the beginning of Gendarmerie Day activities with a blood donation activity, as part of the national campaign “Donate blood! Save a life!”. A simple but so important gesture that they do periodically, some of the gendarmes being honorary donors.

The activities will continue on Wednesday, March 27, starting at 12.00, in the training ground in Fetești municipality, where a shooting competition, in which journalists accredited by the institution and institutional partners were invited to participate, in order to prove their qualities as target shooters.

Also, on Friday, March 29, a mini-football competition will be held between the teams of the Ialomița County Gendarmerie Inspectorate.

On Tuesday, April 2, the 13th edition of the “Romanian Gendarmerie Cup 2024” mini-football tournament will be held, to which representatives of the defense, order and public safety structures from the county were invited to participate.

On Wednesday, April 3, starting at 11:00 a.m., in Piața Revoluției in the municipality of Slobozia, a presentation of the equipment and means of protection and intervention provided by the Ialomița Gendarmerie will be organized. On this occasion, those interested in a military career can find out details about admission to the educational institutions of the Romanian Gendarmerie.

Also on this day, the Ialomi gendarmes who stood out through the activities they carried out in the last year will be rewarded by the inspectorate’s management.

At the same time, on Friday, April 5, starting at 8:00 p.m., on Matei Basarab boulevard in the municipality of Slobozia, the “Retreat with torches” action will be held, a mission that honors the effort of our forefathers, whose memory will be kept alive, like a burning torch, in our hearts.

During a press conference organized on Monday, March 25, the chief inspector of the Ialomița County Gendarmerie Inspectorate, colonel Dobre Costel-Marius, also brought up the fact that from April 1, an IT application will become operational that will facilitate the verification activity of personal identification data.

“This application will facilitate the activity of our colleagues on the street, not only gendarmes, but also from the police, the immigration inspectorate, the border police, which allows establishing the identity of a person through a simple scan of identity documents, regardless of whether we are talking about documents Romanian or foreign identity cards. This app even allows identity to be established by a simple photo or by manually entering identity data. A big plus of this application is that it interconnects several databases, so if the person we have intercepted and legitimized has various alerts entered, both at national and European level, the application will signal these to us things, and we will be able to proceed as such. This application will be found on all the devices of every element of the device on the street, and specifically for the gendarmerie it will be found at everything that means access control posts from the objectives we are responsible for”, said the head of IJJ Ialomița.

In other news, the gendarmes are also preparing for the elections that are taking place this year, in order to successfully complete all missions, given that the personnel deficit is around 30%.

Because in the Gendarmerie, the word “I” does not exist – it is always “WE”, the Ialomi gendarmes invite you to celebrate this important holiday with them”.
