The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development announced that APIA made payments of almost 25 million euros for the year 2023 between April 24 and 26.

The Payments and Intervention Agency for Agriculture (APIA) made payments for the application year 2023, in the total amount of 123.99 million lei (the equivalent of approximately 24.93 million euros), between April 24 and 26, according to the announcement made by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR).

Of the total amount, 47.19 million lei (approximately 9.49 million euros) were paid from the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund (FEGA), while 75.91 million lei (approximately 15.26 million euros) they came from the National Budget (BN). Also, 883,362 lei (approximately 178,475 euros) were directed from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (FEADR), co-financing from the National Budget (BN1) and the European Union Recovery Instrument (EURI).

According to MADR specifications, for the 2023 Campaign, payments for interventions financed from FEGA and BN were made in lei, at an exchange rate of 4.9735 lei/euro. At the same time, payments for measures and interventions financed from the EAFRD were made at an exchange rate of 4.9495 lei/euro.

Previously, payments of almost 28 million euros were made

Previously, APIA and the Agency for Financing Rural Investments (AFIR) made payments of over 27.9 million euros between April 19-22, 2024.

On Monday, APIA made payments for the year of application 2023 in the total amount of 88.945 million lei (almost 17.884 million euros), from the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund (FEGA).

The interventions paid in this tranche are related to PD-01 – BISS, PD-02 – CRISS, PD-03 – CIS-YF, PD-04, PD-05, PD-06, PD-21, PD-22, PD-23 PD-24 and PD-25.

Also, on April 19, 2024, the Payments and Intervention Agency for Agriculture made payments for the application year 2023 in the total amount of 37.498 million lei (7.539 million euros), respectively 37.468 million lei (7.533 million euros) from National Aid Transients (BN) and 29,718.67 lei (6,004.38 euros) from the European Union Recovery Instrument (EURI).

The interventions paid in this tranche are related to plant ANT (ANT 1 and ANT 6), zootechnical ANT (ANTZ 7, ANTZ 8 and ANTZ 9), Measure 10 (Package 1) and Measure 11 (Submeasure 11.1 – Package 1, 3, 6 and Submeasure 11.2 – Package 1, 3, 4).

As for the beneficiaries of the European funds granted through the Rural Investments Financing Agency, they received in their accounts non-refundable funds totaling more than 2.671 million euros (13.219 million lei). Through the payments made in the payment tranche of April 19, 2024, the Agency for the Financing of Rural Investments settled commitments for environmental and climate measures.

Of this amount, 1.95 million euros is paid from FEADR – the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, and 311,000 euros from EURI – the European Union Recovery Instrument. The difference, namely 403,000 euros, represents the contribution from the National Budget.
