Eco Bihor and AVE Bihor, specialists in the treatment of biodegradable waste

The purpose of the sanitation activity and of a waste management center must be to reduce the amount of residual waste, correlated with the increase in the amount of biodegradable waste and its transformation into compost.

In order to increase the performance of the separate collection of biodegradable waste, Eco Bihor and AVE Bihor carry out joint actions to check brown bins, correcting the level of impurities (non-compostable materials – glass, metal, plastic, treated wood, hair, fur, clothes, animal excrement etc. a) from biodegradable waste, before it reaches the composting station.

Employees check each biodegradable bin upon pickup, notify customers of non-conformities by sticking a label on the container and not picking up those with non-compliant waste. In addition to the “NON-CONFORMING” label, we attach a COLLECTION GUIDE, which describes the correct way to select waste.

One of our biodegradable waste treatment solutions is aerobic composting on concrete platforms. This allows the development of an oxygenated environment in which organic waste decomposes naturally, with low emissions of methane (a greenhouse gas 7 times more polluting than CO2). Thus we reduce the contribution to global warming and support the fight against climate change.

Compost production is increasing due to the verification of the quality of separately collected biodegradable waste. Thus, the risk of contamination of those received at the composting station decreased significantly, which confirms that the citizens have gotten used to this system, to their benefit.

We thus close a circle through which the primary resources are exploited and reach back to the customers in the form of a new product: flower soil. The aspect emphasizes the contribution we bring to supporting the circular economy.

In order for the results of our work to be visible and to thank the citizens for their efforts, we periodically organize campaigns to promote separate collection, offering customers free bags of flower soil.
