The government is to set the objective regarding the amount of gas that Energocom will store until the beginning of the next cold season. The joint-stock company has until October 1, 2024 to collect 102.4 million cubic meters of “blue fuel” in its warehouses.
The energy resource will be stored in storage facilities in countries that are part of the Energy Community and/or in the member states of the European Union. Negotiations regarding the acquisition can be direct, but Energocom will have to demonstrate to the National Agency for Energy Regulation that the price is competitive in relation to the one stipulated on the basis of the competitive procurement procedure, according to the authorities.

The Energocom company will be obliged to keep separate records of the transactions concluded in connection with the execution of the gas storage obligation and to inform the Government, the Ministry of Energy and the National Energy Regulatory Agency about each of them.
The information regarding the completed transactions will be presented to the relevant authorities, upon request, and will include data on the quantity of gas purchased, price, seller and agreements related to transportation and storage.
