A new report suggests that Samsung could introduce glucose monitoring into its next-generation smartwatches, an innovation that could transform the way users manage their health.

Hon Pak, Samsung Electronics Senior Vice President and Director of Digital Health, spoke with Samsung Health advisory board members at the company’s Seoul Medical Center about the progress in glucose monitoring and its implementation in smart wearable devices.

The meeting also covered other topics, including advances in the use of artificial intelligence for health monitoring and the detection of cardiac arrhythmias and hypertension, writes GSM Arena.

When will the Samsung Unpacked event take place

The report did not reveal details about the operation of the glucose monitoring system. The Galaxy Watch7 series is expected to launch on July 10, alongside the Galaxy Ring, Galaxy Fold6 and Flip6. The new Watch7 series will be equipped with the Exynos W940 chipset, which is said to be 50% more efficient than its predecessor, and will have up to 32GB of storage.

Samsung plans to hold its flagship Unpacked event on July 10, 2024 in Paris, according to multiple sources.

The choice of Paris as the host for this event is no coincidence, as the city will also be the venue for this year’s Summer Olympics. Given that Samsung is one of the main sponsors of the Olympics, holding the event in the French capital seems like a strategic decision.
