Apple is slowing production of the Vision Pro after modest sales in the United States

After the latest sales recorded by Apple for the Vision Pro product, the tech giant’s VR headset, it seems that company officials have taken the decision to limit the production of the devices.

According to information provided by Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst recognized for the accuracy of his information related to the Apple supply chain, the outlook for the Vision Pro headset is not at all optimistic at the moment. Kuo indicated that Apple lowered its full-year shipment estimates (and by implication production orders) to 400,000-450,000 units, compared to the “market consensus” of 700,000 to 800,000 units or even higher , writes GSM Arena.

The reason behind Apple’s decision

The decision comes ahead of the launch of the Vision Pro in markets other than the US, suggesting that demand in America has fallen significantly below the company’s initial expectations.

Therefore, influenced by the decline in demand in the US, Apple is taking a conservative view on demand in other markets, where it plans to launch the Vision Pro later this year, most likely in the summer-fall. Apple is also said to be reviewing and adjusting its roadmap for future releases, which could mean there won’t be a new Vision Pro model in 2025.

Furthermore, Apple expects Vision Pro shipments to decrease in 2025 compared to 2024.
