Sony announced at the beginning of 2023 the kind of product we associate with the 90s. It’s a Walkman music player, but a bit more premium. His name is NW-A306. Walkmans were created for users who want a premium design and high-quality acoustics.

The newcomer has a sandblasted aluminum frame with increased rigidity. The result is a reduced impedance, a more stable and clear sound and a more solid bass. This model follows the NW-WM1ZM2 and NW-WM1AM2, premium Walkman models released in 2022. The Sony NW-A306 has a 3.6-inch TFT touch screen with HD resolution.

It also has support WiFi and 32 GB internal storage, which can be expanded via microSD. Support Hi-Res Audio, LDAC, DSD and audio format FLACbut it also has a S-Master HX digital amplifier, for reduced distortion and reduced noise. On the side we find a control system for media playback. The new NW-A306 is better than its predecessors because it adds DSEE Ultimate support for music upscaling, whether we’re talking about Wi-Fi streaming or downloaded tracks.

Through 360 Reality Audio and technology Sony 360 Spatial Sound lets you experience a range of sounds in a 360-degree spherical audio field. Back to important data, the player offers up to 36 hours of FLAC playback at 44.1 kHz or 32 hours of 96 kHz FLAC High-Resolution playback. Or 26 hours when you use a music streaming service.

It runs Android 12, has a USB-C port, stereo mini jack, microSD slot, Bluetooth 5.0 and dual band Wi-Fi. It has 32 GB of storage and weighs 113 grams. The Sony NW-A306 Walkman is available in black or blue and costs 400 euros. On sale starting this month.
