The return-warranty system has turned scavenging into a profitable activity. But not in any garbage, but at the recycling bells. In the neighborhoods, Brasov residents increasingly see people who force the systems to remove blankets or other types of recyclable packaging. “I see dubious people, they get in the back and force the bells. Other people, every time, and in the morning, and in the evening, and at noon. Those crooked ones remained there, the bottles are coming out”, a woman from Brasov tells us.
And the representatives of the Braşov municipality admit that they already have a problem. The spokesperson of the Braşov City Hall, Sorin Toarcea.
“We also started to face a problem of unauthorized people who, in an attempt to find such packaging, devastate the waste storage and selective collection platforms, those igloo-type systems. It is a situation that, unfortunately, is increasing, from what we have seen in recent weeks. We hope that the Local Police will manage to control this phenomenon and not expand. At the same time, we invite the residents of Brasov to take these packages to the existing collection systems and recover the money they have already paid, and to deposit those that are without a guarantee at the platforms dedicated to recyclable packaging or at the PETrića systems”said the spokesperson of the Brasov City Hall, Sorin Toarcea.
The PETrică systems were under maintenance for a while, but from the weekend they issue RATBV tickets again.
