Oana Radu’s revelations about the divorce and the relationship she calls toxic and abusive: “I was the only source of income in the family”

In November 2023, Oana Radu confirmed her separation from Cătălin Dobrescu, the fitness trainer who had been her husband for the past three years. Since then she has not given details about the reasons for the divorce, but now, in two videos posted on her Instagram account, the singer made some surprising confessions.

In August 2020, Oana Radu married fitness trainer Cătălin Dobrescu, who helped her lose weight and fall in love with sports. Although they posed as the perfect couple, things didn’t exactly work out for them, and now, the star says it was a toxic and even abusive relationship.

He said he didn’t want to denigrate his ex-partner, but he wanted to talk about what he went through during the marriage, but also about the divorce. “This topic makes me anxious. There is so much to say”she began.

“I’m choosing not to be afraid anymore, I’ve been afraid enough in the relationship I’ve been in. It feels awful and disgusting and horrible that I’ve come to talk about this publicly, but I want let this story be an example to girls and boys who live in toxic relationships and are going through similar stories (…) If you are in a toxic, abusive relationship like mine was, please leave. I know how hard it is. It took me almost three years to get out of this relationship. Although the relationship only lasted four years, I fought for three years to leave. I wanted this breakup, I filed for divorce, because I regained my strength. In December the divorce was finalized, it was amicable, at the notary, for the sake of the good times. I think it’s no longer a secret that I was the only source of income in our family. When we started the relationship, Cătălin he was training in Craiova. I was living in Bucharest. When he decided to move to Bucharest and a lot of concerts came, he gave up what he was doing to drive the car to concerts and answer the phones to schedule concerts. He didn’t give up his coaching job out of altruism, but because I had a lot of concerts”Oana Radu continued the series of revelations.

“Me and my ex-husband shared an apartment and a concert car. I worked for that apartment and when I wasn’t supposed to speak. I was going to Paris to be treated because I had cysts on my vocal cords. I didn’t even have to speak, I had to I’m having surgery, but having a lot of events and promises, I went and honored the events. I got that apartment and that car. After the divorce, I decided that I’m staying in the house. That’s what I wanted because I worked a lot for him and I said that I would give Cătălin a sum of money. I said that he was by my side, I had both good and bad times. By the way, for those who say that I lost weight thanks to Cătălin, I want you to know that yes, it helped a lot that i fell in love with him and i wanted to lose weight so that he would like me. i lost 60 kilos and in 2014 i will probably lose more. i’m happy i gained weight for that I was so glad I was able to get out of this relationship that I couldn’t get out of.Since the divorce until now, I’ve only eaten crap every day. Returning to the main topic and what hurt her the most after the separation from Cătălin, Oana also told: “I decided that he will go to Craiova and I will give him the money in a year. In the meantime, he changed his mind and said he wanted the money in six months. He took the concert car with him, which he keeps in front of the block. We agreed that neither he nor I used the car, but what do you think, he used it. I used to go to concerts with the tool car or my personal car. We got along, but I told him to take it and that I’m going to get it back. After he said he wanted the money in six months, he decided to move back to Bucharest, to the apartment, he said he wouldn’t leave until I gave him the money, that he would sleep on the floor, and I bed. I explained to him that there was no way I could stay in the house with him after we broke up. Every day we argued very badly. I told him I was leaving and sleeping where I could. That’s what I did for about two months , I was sleeping wherever I could to avoid all the talk. I think you will understand my frustrations. The most painful part is that he forbade me to come there with my mother, my best friend. He gave me a message that if I come with my girlfriend, he beats us both. He brought all kinds of feminine presences. It doesn’t seem normal to me that he thinks he has the right to come there with girls, and I can’t with my mother, in a house that I worked very hard for. Meanwhile, I gritted my teeth and worked to give him the pennies.”

Oana Radu claims that things have disappeared from her apartment. She managed, however, to buy her dream house

“The worst thing seemed to me when my laptop began to disappear from my personal belongings. I, his wife, bought a watch from him. The documents of origin and the receipt disappeared. I decided to choose justice, so that I filed several lawsuits against my ex-husband”Oana also said, before giving the big news, that she bought a big house that she only dreamed of.

“I bought the house of my dreams. If I can’t enjoy the apartment, I let the law take care of the problems. I chose to buy the most beautiful house I could ever have”, the 30-year-old singer concluded. At the end of the second video, she also posted some pictures of her new home.
