The first train station in Sinaia had a bohemian air and a typical look for those times. The station was equipped with a lounge and two wings. Shortly after its inauguration, tourists took the area by storm, so that the station became unusable. Then the decision was made to replace it with the current passenger station in Sinaia.

Sinaia is among the few cities in Europe that has two royal railway stations

In 1886, the first royal railway station was built nearby. It operated until 1940. After it ceased to serve as a railway station, its purpose was to host performances, carpentry workshops, and later, it became a library. Currently, the space is dedicated to a museum.

In 1933, Duiliu Marcu was commissioned by King Carol II to build a new royal train station. Unlike the first, hereafter, it is used for its original purpose. Currently, the station receives the president on state visits.

With its erection, Sinaia successfully joined the short list of cities with two royal railway stations. The royal stations of Sinaia witnessed some of the most important events of those times. Some of them are still talked about today.
