Dragos Benea, about the candidates Valentin Ivancea and Cristina Pravat: “I never considered other candidates”

In the press conference after the submission of candidacies for the Bacau County Council, the president of PSD Bacau, Dragos Benea, was asked if the social democrats considered other candidacies, apart from the two: Ivancea and Pravat.

Benea explained that PSD Bacau did not negotiate with other parties and did not consider putting other candidates for the two positions – of mayor and president of CJ Bacau – except for the two candidates who have already submitted their candidacies:

“This candidacy was never discussed in the statutory forums of the PSD Bacau, as such we vehemently reject any allusive reference to the respective (ref. Sergiu Sechelariu) or anyone else on this subject. Another candidacy was never considered.

There is equivocal talk on this subject, PSD Bacau nominated its candidates in January 2024 – when the merger scenario is foreseen. Then Mrs. Pravat and Mr. Ivancea were also announced, we had no other candidates. To be fair, the candidacy of Mr. Ivancea was announced at the municipal PSD Bacau, in October 2022 and it is the expression of the way in which the PSD views the municipality of Bacau and the town hall of Bacau by sending a president of the CJ Bacau with results.” Dragos Benea sent
