--

BLOT – Body Line of Thought
the invisible links with the microorganisms in our body

BLOT explores movement from the perspective of the relationship we have with the bacteria in our bodies. The show looks at the human body as an interconnected system, strong and fragile at the same time. Stripped of the social meanings defined by language, the body is redefined through a continuous dialogue, based on the principle of coexistence. On and off stage, choreographers Simona Deaconescu and Vanessa Goodman have created a performative system based on seemingly invisible connections, but without which the human body could not function. Tickets here.

Saturday – Sunday, May 11-12 | 19:30 | premier
MEMETICS – a viral show. Not on the Internet, but on stage

After the hit show ManualSergiu Diță, a rising choreographer, returns to CNDB with a new premiere. Memetics is a contemporary dance performance inspired by digital and pop culture, from memes, in a performative space of hyperlinks transferred to the body, on which the author intervenes through actions of remixing and re-contextualization. The generation and spread of information online, analogous to the phenomenon of the spread of viruses, changes the perception of reality and is transferred to the mode of cultural production. Tickets here.

Tuesday, May 14 | 7:30 p.m
BODIES ON THE LINE – do you exist if no one sees you?

The show, choreographed by Ioana Marchidan, is based on a text written by the performers in collaboration with the playwright Mihaela Michailov. Bodies on The Line it compresses the time of personal stories and dilates the pressure of the times in which we live, dominated by the alienating flight after overlapping projects, by burn-out and by the trap-sensation that if you are not seen, you do not exist. Tickets here.

Wednesday, May 15 | 7:30 p.m
LIGHT WEDNESDAY – ideas affirmed performatively

Casual Wednesdayone of the most famous programs in the history of CNDB continues. Casual Wednesday – ideas affirmed performatively is an open platform where anyone can test their ideas on stage. Sunday, May 26 | 7:30 p.m
PATHOSPHERE – spherical, atmospheric, biological, strong

The pathosphere – concept and artistic direction: Mădălina Dan – is a synthesis of various influences such as iridescence, fitness classes, cosmology, trap music, the study of ants, the study of affects, urban space and technology, which merge, intercalate, overlap. The show brings to life a fragile and brilliant universe, interconnected and coexisting, specific to ecological thinking and decentred from the human perspective, where reality is only one of the versions of our gaze, and survival is, implicitly, interdependence. Tickets here.

On May 30 and June 1, CNDB hosts several events within the Rokolectiv Festival. On May 30, two performances resulting from the Atopia residencies will be presented, in which two artists who are part of the SHAPE+ platform, Petra Hermanova and Bela, were invited to work in Bucharest together with the Apparatus 22 collective, respectively with Mihai Mihalcea and Olah Gyarfas. Performances combine elements of stage movement, installation, design and music, ranging from contemporary autoharp compositions to recontextualized Korean folklore. On June 1, Rokolectiv presents the performance “Wartakawarsa: Rites of the Souls” (part of the project “Chack-chak-chack! Re-reading rituals”) by the Indonesian duo Bintang Manira Manik and Gilang Anom MM The show is based on a Javanese ceremonial ritual meant to purify the memories of a dark colonial past.
