Another modern sports base is to be inaugurated, in Alba Iulia, the Micești stadium. Thus, their number has reached 15. Almost 80 others are still in the process of completion.

The program to build 400 pitches for grassroots football, through the National Investment Company, launched during the organization of the UEFA EURO 2020 Final Tournament in Romania, continues with the inauguration of a new Type 1 base. These are the result of the Government’s investment in sports infrastructure, with a value of approximately 1.5 million euros each. Each base is equipped with a synthetic football pitch, nightstands, changing rooms and a car park, alongside a smaller 40 x 20 meter multi-purpose pitch.

The sports base at the Micești stadium in Alba Iulia is ready and in the following days CNI will receive the work, after which it will be put into use. The president of the FRF, Răzvan Burleanu, and the technical director Mihai Stoichiță were present in Alba Iulia today and visited the new sports base.

The purpose of these bases is to create modern conditions for the development of grassroots football and to improve the experience of practitioners and supporters. With the inauguration of the sports base in Alba Iulia, the total number of completed bases reaches 15, and almost 80 others are in various stages of execution. Each sports base has two fields: one of standard size and one smaller, multifunctional.

The initiative is part of the EURO 2020 Program, and upon its completion there will be a total of 400 pitches for youth football, of which 300 will be integrated into the 150 sports bases and another 100 in schools. Thus, a sustainable infrastructure is created for the promotion of sports and for the organization of football events in modern conditions throughout the country.
