The “orange pill” has arrived in Romania. It is about the generically named “Donkey Kong” drug from the amphetamine family, which, according to experts, can cause hallucinations, convulsions and death.

According to the Romanian Police, the killer pill would have reached consumers in Vaslui county, along with other high-risk drugs. Consumers would have had to pay between 80 and 500 lei for such a drug, for which we still do not have any data on the risks and effects.
“It’s definitely a major life risk. And in Great Britain there have been incidents of this kind. The authorities in the West, when they capture ecstasy tablets, also publicly communicate the concentration of these ecstasy tablets precisely so that teenagers, consumers, young people, know these things, know the risk they are exposing themselves to and why not also for their parents. Because there were situations where parents found brightly colored tablets, they thought they were harmless candies, but in essence they are very dangerous drugs, high-risk drugs”, says Cătălin Țone, anti-drug expert.
What are the side effects of the “Orange Pill”
“In addition to the narcotic effect, the side effects of ecstasy use are jaw clenching, eye and muscle twitching or convulsions. In case of overdose, in the first threshold, the body temperature rises suddenly and hallucinations appear. In the following days, after the administration of overdoses of ecstasy, increased depression, inability to concentrate, sleep disturbances, loss of appetite, and a feeling of strong apathy appear. Other ecstasy tablets with lethal potential are those with the Punisher and Tesla logos,” the anti-drug expert emphasized, according to bizbrasov.ro.
These ecstasy tablets are shaped and stamped to resemble the face of Donkey Kong, the popular Nintendo character known globally by most children. DK is printed on the back of the tablet, and the pills are peach-colored, the cited source states.
In Romania, drug use has already become a national problem, debated in the Supreme Council of Defense of the Country.
