EC Rowing: Four crews from Romania qualified for the medal finals on Friday

Four crews from Romania qualified for the medal finals at the European Rowing Championships in Szeged, Hungary, on Friday.

The crews that competed on Friday and qualified for the medal finals are as follows:

• women’s double rowing (W2X – Ancuța Bodnar and Simona Radiş)

• women’s single sculls (W1X – Andrada Moroşanu)

• women’s four oars (W4X – Mariana Dumitru, Emanuela Ciotău, Alexandra Ungureanu and Mădălina Moroşan)

• four male rowers (M4X – Cristian Nicoară, Bogdan Baitoc, Florin Horodişteanu and Ioan Prundeanu).

Of the 13 Romanian teams that started on Thursday in the EC qualifications, six qualified directly for the finals and three reached the semi-finals.

The crews qualified for the A finals

• women’s double frame (Ioana Vrînceanu and Roxana Anghel)

• four women’s frames (Mădălina Bereş, Maria Lehaci, Magdalena Rusu and Amalia Bereş)

• men’s four frames (Andrei Mândrilă, Mugurel Semciuc, Ştefan Berariu and Ciprian Tudosă)

• women’s double rowing, lightweight category (Gianina van Groningen and Ionela Cozmiuc)

• 8+1 male (Mihăiță Șigănescu, Ciprian Tudosă, Constantin Adam, Mugurel Vasile Semciuc, Florin Arteni, Sergiu Bejan, Ştefan Berariu, Florin Lehaci, Adrian Munteanu)

• 8+1 female (Magdalena Rusu, Roxana Anghel, Adriana Adam, Maria Lehaci, Mădălina Bereş, Amalia Bereş, Ioana Vrînceanu, Simona Radiş, Victoria-Ştefania Petreanu).

Also, the men’s double sculls (Florin Arteni and Florin Lehaci), men’s double sculls (Andrei Cornea and Marian Enache) and men’s single sculls (Mihai Chiruţă) have access to the semi-finals.

The medal finals are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday (April 27 and 28).
