Two trams collided violently in Arad, after one of the drivers did not brake in time. Two women were injured, one of them was hospitalized

Two trams collided on Wednesday in the municipality of Arad, and two passengers were injured, one being transported to the Emergency Reception Unit of the County Emergency Clinical Hospital.

According to the County Ambulance Service, the accident took place in the UTA area, on Calea Aurel Vlaicu, and two people needed medical attention. A woman received treatment at the scene, and the second victim, a 57-year-old woman, was transported to the hospital, suffering a head injury and a shoulder injury.

The director of the Arad Public Transport Company, Claudiu Godja, stated that both trams were traveling on the same line one behind the other, and the second driver would not have been careful and would not have braked in time.

“It seems that a vatman driving an older type German tram did not keep his distance from the tram in front and, probably inadvertently, hit the Imperio model car. Two passengers complained of pain in the head and the police made investigations. The trams were withdrawn to the depot, having damage to the body”, said Claudiu Godja, according to Agerpres.

The representatives of the County Police Inspectorate said that investigations are being carried out for personal injury due to negligence.
