Teachers and school managers from all over Europe recently attended a professional training course in Florence, in the heart of Tuscany, the city of art and culture.

Among them were three principals from Constanta: Prof. Florin Miron from Secondary School No. 1 Mangalia, Prof. Geanina Mărgineanu, director of High School No. 1 Hârșova, and Prof. Loredana Eugenia Dima, director of High School No. 1 Pecineaga “Rear Admiral Petrică Stoica”.

Entitled “Classroom management solutions for teachers – New Methodologies Effective motivation, cooperation and evaluation strategies”, the course is provided by Europass Teacher Academy and is part of the series of activities of the first year of Erasmus+ Accreditation, contract no. 2023-1-RO01-KA121-SCH-000128908, financed by the European Commission with a value of 33,675 euros, whose beneficiary is the Constanța County School Inspectorate.

The course benefited participants by creating the opportunity to learn about: solving classroom management problems, providing instructions for classroom rules, monitoring and managing pair and individual work, keeping education student-centred, using ICT and AI tools for motivating students in the classroom, managing different cultures, assessing and providing feedback to students.

All the modules of the course discussed the perspectives and approaches applied in Secondary School No. 1 Mangalia, contributing to the enrichment of the intercultural and professional dialogue. The acquired experience and accumulated knowledge will be integrated into the educational plans and strategies of the school, with the aim of improving the quality of the learning process and responding more effectively to the diverse needs of students.

“Participating in this Erasmus+ course was a great opportunity to get in touch with innovative teaching approaches and share good practices with other education professionals. I was impressed by the openness to new learning methods and I am convinced that the techniques and strategies acquired will have a positive impact on our school community. We are aware that the future of education involves global interconnection. This course is just the beginning of a journey where we want to integrate the best practices into our teaching methods and provide our students with a quality education in step with international pedagogical innovations.

The course was also an opportunity to bring to the fore the projects and initiatives of No. 1 Mangalia Secondary School at the European level, demonstrating that quality education in Romania can be an example to follow. We will continue to support initiatives that bring added value to the educational process and encourage teachers to improve themselves, in order to offer students the most efficient and modern learning methods”, said Prof. Florin Miron, director of Secondary School No. 1 Mangalia.
