A traffic accident took place on Tuesday evening in Cluj-Napoca, on Aurel Vlaicu street. According to witnesses, a pedestrian who crossed the street through an unauthorized place was allegedly hit by a car.

“Accident on Aurel Vlaicu after the pedestrian crossing from OMV – direction Someşeni”, informed the drivers on the Cluj-Napoca Traffic Info Facebook page. In the area, the road was blocked by the Police, and the SMURD intervened to take over a victim.

“A man lying on the ground when we passed, the medical team was putting a cervical collar on him. SMURD had arrived 2 minutes before.

As far as we could tell, he had tried to cross the square, towards the sidewalk, and the white car had hit him. Maybe I don’t know right, I was just passing by”, wrote a driver who passed through the area where the accident happened on Tuesday evening.

UPDATE IPJ Cluj:
ZIUA de CLUJ requested more information from the Cluj police regarding the accident that occurred on Tuesday evening on Aurel Vlaicu Street.

“Road accident occurred on May 7, around 9:30 p.m., on Aurel Vlaicu street in Cluj-Napoca.

From the preliminary investigations, it was found that a man who, as a pedestrian, would have engaged in crossing the street through an unmarked and unmarked “crossing for pedestrians”, was injured by a car driven in the direction of Traian Vuia Street, by a young man 29 years old, from Maramureș county.

The driver was tested with the breathalyzer, the result was negative. The pedestrian could not be tested on the spot, being taken over by a medical crew. Investigations are being carried out to establish his identity”, informed IPJ Cluj on the morning of Wednesday, May 8.
