A SMURD plane participating in a NATO exercise, intervention to save a patient

According to the General Aviation Inspectorate of the MAI, a SMURD plane participating in a NATO exercise performed a secondary mission on Tuesday evening to transport a patient with heart conditions from Cluj-Napoca to Bucharest.

When the request was received, the plane was involved in the NATO exercise “Vigorous Warrior 2024”, held in Hungary.

“Around 7:15 p.m., the aircraft took off from the area where the exercise was carried out, namely the Pápa Air Base in Hungary to Cluj-Napoca,” IGAv reported.

At the time of the news transmission, the aircraft is at Cluj-Napoca International Airport, about to take off to Bucharest, where it will deliver the patient.
