Press release: Theodora Golf Club, the largest golf resort in Romania, kicks off the fantastic new golf season

--

This week, between April 22 and 26, 2024, the largest golf resort in Romania, Theodora Golf Club, gave “Green to golf” and opened its doors to children from kindergartens, schools and high schools in Alba county.

Students from Alba Iulia, Teiuș, Abrud, Sebeș, Blaj and Vințu de Jos had the opportunity to spend a day on the largest golf course in Romania, learn theoretical concepts, practice some golf shots, and enjoy of exercise in the open air within the program “Verde la gulf – Days of Open Doors”, included in the Otherwise Week.

“Children and young people must be attracted to a healthy lifestyle that includes outdoor movement, a prerequisite for their harmonious development. Golf is the sport that provides them with a safe and healthy environment for outdoor movement and allows them to practice and improve their social skills, responsibility, discipline and self-control.

We joined the “Golf Green – Open Days” initiative, included in the Otherwise Week, and offered children in the county the opportunity to learn about golf, practice specific shots and have fun in a safe and professional environment.” declares Theodora Popa-Liteanu, Vice President of Theodora Golf Club.

Golf green

The resort located a few minutes from the municipality of Alba Iulia, in Teleac, Ciugud commune, joined the “Green Golf – Open Days” program, initiated by the Romanian Golf Federation, and offered the opportunity for children from the county to benefit from one-hour sessions of introduction to golf where the students visited the golf course, learned some theoretical notions about the sport and had the opportunity to practice some specific shots in the Driving Range area.

“It was unique, relaxing and beautiful! A special experience for students and teachers alike”, said the director of the 12th grade B, from the High School with Sports Program, who thanked the organizers of the event.

“We were happy to see such a great interest from teaching staff – educators, teachers, professors or directors – who responded to the invitation sent through the school inspectorates and enrolled students from the entire county to participate in the program held at Theodora Golf Club during April 22-26, 2024, during the Otherwise Week.

Even though the weather gave us some problems and we had to postpone some of the meetings, we managed, together with our instructors, to guide the children on an exciting journey of discovery of this fascinating sport.

New concepts for students

From theoretical notions to practical exercises in the training area, students from the county, enrolled in the “Green Golf – Open Days” program, had a complete and educational experience”, says Debora Vesa, Director of Resort Theodora Golf Club.

The youngest, from kindergartens and primary classes, had at their disposal the SNAG (Start New at Golf) set – an effective and funny program, a beautiful and active way of spending free time through sports and play for the little ones.

Dedicated especially to juniors between the ages of 4-10, the program is conducted in complete safety (with tennis-like balls, lightweight plastic hoops and clubs), with professional instructors and under the supervision of teaching staff.

Supervised by educators and teachers, the little ones also played at Poppy’s Playground, the approximately 400 square meter playground located next to the Club House, where children can develop their coordination and balance by swinging and playing with the figures on the spring funny in the form of playful animals or double rockers.

In the 6 years since its inauguration, the Theodora Golf Club team has been actively involved in the life of the community by organizing programs with golf lessons for children from Alba County.

Anyone can enjoy the golf experience

Along with children, adults can also enjoy the golf experience, practice and improve their playing techniques by taking advantage of the courses with experienced and well-trained golf instructors who offer golf lessons for both beginners and advanced players.

The Golf with a Pro package offers everyone interested 8 individual lessons with a professional instructor at the practice areas, Driving Range & Putting Green and 2 full rounds of 18 cups, completed by obtaining the player’s certificate.
