DIICOT announces, on Friday, that the boy from Gorj county who was allegedly sold was taken over by the German authorities, as early as April 18. The institution has opened a criminal case for trafficking in minors, the proceedings being in rem for the time being.

“On the role of DIICOT – Gorj Territorial Office, a criminal case was registered on 08.04.2024 regarding the commission of the crime of trafficking of minors, following a notification made by the General Directorate of Child Assistance and Protection Gorj. The investigations are carried out in rem, and this stage does not mean the formulation of accusations against a person/s, but establishes the procedural framework necessary to gather the evidence for the correct and complete establishment of the state of facts to allow the adoption of a legal and thorough solution in the case”. transmitted, on Friday, DIICOT, in a press release.
