Systematic has a team in Bucharest made up of over 150 Romanian employees, who write code for public and private health and education institutions in Denmark or NATO member countries and partners. The company runs projects in fields such as defense, medical and education and plans to recruit more than 200 specialists at group level.

Alexandra Dincă, Talent Acquisition Team Lead, with over five years of experience within Systematic, tells in an interview given to Hotnews about the company’s plans to increase the development teams, as well as the ways in which the recruitment process is carried out, from attracting candidates to integrating them into the team .

How Systematic recruits

Alexandra Dincă explained that recruiting in the field is not simple, as active candidates are offered by many companies. However, she believes that it is important not to skip steps in the recruitment process, and for candidates to be well informed about the company’s projects, culture and offer, and to ensure that the career opportunities suit their professional development needs.

Always, with active candidates interested in our roles, generally identified by us, we have a telephone discussion, to better understand their needs and to present our projects and roles to them in more detail. We try to identify if there is a fit, and give them as much information as possible from the start, we encourage them to ask us questions, to get an idea of whether our projects and roles are right for them”he mentioned Alexandra Dincă, Team Lead, Systematic.

The recruitment process has three stages, there is an interview with the team manager and the recruiter, followed by a technical interview, where the candidates are evaluated on a technical level, and finally, there is an interview with a member of the Danish management team.

The design of this recruitment process aims both to evaluate candidates, but also to transparently discuss information about the work environment, projects, technologies and the entire developer experience within the organization.

At Systematic, the focus is on encouraging candidates to gain the necessary information and become an active part of the recruitment process, so that they can decide for themselves whether they want a role in the organisation.

We are actively involved in organizing and participating in both internal events, held in our own office, as well as external technical conferences and events of interest in our field. These opportunities allow us to connect with the community and make ourselves known by presenting our projects, the technologies we use and the fields in which we operate. We have also launched a campaign of internal events for several years, where we address various technical topics and present our projects. Thus, participants have the opportunity to visit our offices, meet the team and become more familiar with our activity and the solutions we implement at Systematic“, he detailed Alexandra Dincă.

Few applicants, but new trends appear in the market

Although the problem of the lack of candidates in the field of IT has been well known for many years, with a significant shortage, the recruitment specialist at Systematic points to a change in the trend in the market. According to her, in the context in which some companies in the market are closing their projects and relinquishing staff, there is a greater interest from candidates in exploring the job offer in the market.

We are starting to receive more resumes. In addition, we, Systematic, believe that we are attractive mainly due to the fields in which we operate, specialists being interested in novel projects, as we have, especially in defense, as well as in the fields of healthcare and education. When we get to the interview stage and they learn about our projects, through which we help save lives, for example, it becomes a point of interest for them“, he mentioned Alexandra Dincă.

What profile does Systematic look for and what benefits does it offer

The software company is currently recruiting 25 full-stack developers who have knowledge of Java and Angular.

We want people with a technical background, with studies in IT, automation or informatics, and experience in software development projects. We want to increase teams with flexible people, willing to grow and develop with the organization, but also open to change and international collaboration“, he explained Alexandra Dincă, Team Lead, Systematic.

And once in the company, employees have an onboarding process directly at the organization’s Danish headquarters, to understand the Danish work environment and culture and to adapt to working in multicultural teams.

In addition to the motivating salaries, Systematic employees enjoy participation in profile events in Romania or abroad financially supported by the company, flexibility of the work schedule, work regime in a hybrid system and special events organized for employees by company.

We place special emphasis on work-life balance, a model borrowed from Danish culture. We work both from the office and from home, thus providing flexibility and an environment conducive to socializing and getting to know each other. We also organize various social events to strengthen the bonds between colleagues and promote a work-life balance culture“, he detailed Alexandra Dincă, Systematic.

And all the company’s efforts to keep people motivated later translate into a significantly below market average percentage of departures from the organization, plus a significant number of employees with up to ten years of experience in Systematic.

In this context, Systematic’s recruitment team is optimistic that it will be able to grow the team in 2024 in line with the company’s goals, as the organization is in a favorable moment in the market and has stable and mature projects.

systematically is an international company with Danish capital producing software and systems for the public and private sectors, with projects in the field of education, health and defence.
