Târgumures local councilors met on Thursday, April 25, 2024, during the regular meeting and voted on a series of projects, among the most important being the budget correction of 51 million lei. Of the total, almost half of the amount, namely 23 million lei, will be allocated to projects with European funds, then subsidies from local transport, 8 million, to the Zoo 4.2 million, to the Technical Directorate 2.9 million, to the Domain Administration Public 1.2 million, block thermal rehabilitation 1.6 million, school infrastructure 3.5 million lei.
Also during the meeting, the organization of a contest of ideas was approved, with the theme “Monument to the heroes of the December 1989 revolution”. The commemorative monument will be located in Piaţa Victoriei, on the side facing the “Bună Vestire” Cathedral. In order to stimulate the creativity of the authors who wish to participate in this Ideas Competition, the awarding of prizes for the first, second and third places in the total amount of 45,000.00 lei is approved, as follows: First Prize – 40,000.00 lei, Second Prize – 3,000.00 lei, Third Prize – 2,000 lei.
The contest of ideas will be publicized in the local mass media, on the website of the municipality www.tirgumures.ro and in a visible place at the headquarters of the Municipality of Târgu Mureş.
Another item on the agenda was the handover to the Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration through the National Investment Company of the site and ensuring the conditions for the construction of a nursery on Milcovului Street.
At the same time, Thursday’s vote approved the financing by the territorial administrative unit of the municipality of Târgu Mureş, of expenses for utility connections (electricity, water, sewer, gas or other type of fuel used, etc.).
Last but not least, the Târgu Mureş Zoo will be the host of events in the coming period, during which visitors will benefit from a reduced or free entrance fee, as follows:
– On May 18, 2024, at the “Night of the Museums” event at Târgu Mureş Zoo, the entrance fee for adults is 10 lei and 5 lei for children and pensioners;
– On June 1, 2024, on International Children’s Day, access to Târgu Mureş Zoo for minors is free.
– On June 7, at the “Dreamnight at Zoo” event, free access for children with disabilities and their families, between 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
