The National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management issued, on Thursday, a flood warning, a warning also valid in Prahova. Hydrologists have announced that flash floods can occur on small rivers with possible effects of local flooding and increases in flows.

The INHGA warning is also valid in Prahova, until Friday, April 26, at 10:00 a.m.

Hydrologists have announced that, considering the current hydrometeorological situation and the weather forecast for the next 24 hours, as a result of the forecasted precipitation, the yielding of water from the snow layer in the high mountain area and the propagation, significant leaks may occur on the slopes, torrents and streams and flash floods on small rivers with possible effects of local flooding and increased flows.

Thus, according to INHGA, there is a risk of flooding on the rivers in several basins, including the Ialomiţa basin – upstream basin Ac. Pucioasa (counties: Dâmboviţa and Prahova), Prahova – upper basin and middle and lower basin tributaries (counties: Prahova and Ialomiţa), Buzău – upstream basin Ac. Siriu and the tributaries related to the downstream sector Ac. Siriu-amonte SH Banita (counties: Brasov, Covasna and Prahova).

In Prahova, a weather warning of rain and wind is in effect until Friday at 06:00, and a new wave of snow is expected in the mountains.
